Public platform ratings, shown as of when we last checked, kept separate from our own Taster score.
In the press
What critics and reporters have written, attributed summaries, not our own review.
Houstonia’s 2025 citywide sushi guide includes Himari as an intimate Northwest Houston spot, noting its nigiri, sashimi and tempura options.
A roundup listing (not a standalone review); tempura is named among the offerings.
ContextIn the limited visible review sample: Two excerpts praised sushi/omakase dishes; one specifically praised hospitality. One three-star excerpt discussed seating and standardized rice portions, without enough visible text to attribute a specific complaint.
3 visible review entries. Three default-order public review excerpts; not tempura-specific unless expressly stated. Small convenience sample from provider-selected/default order, not representative or exhaustive. Some excerpts are truncated. No absence-of-complaints claim; no sentiment inferred from aggregate stars. Author names are public display names, not verified identities.
ContextExpansion reporting identifies the original Garden Oaks restaurant and a proposed second site.
News, not a dining review; proposed San Felipe branch is not this record and not treated as open.

How ratings work
Diner ratings. We show each platform's public rating as of the date we recorded it, on a 5-point scale, with a link to the current rating. Our tempura rating is our own firsthand tempura score, always kept separate and never blended in.
Diner consensus. We combine independent platforms into one score, weighting each by how many ratings back it. Platforms that share the same reviews are counted once, and the consensus only appears with two or more independent sources.
Independence. How we rate and recommend is never affected by any advertising, partnership or sponsorship. Ratings and reviews remain the property of the platforms they come from.
